There was a time when homes had no fancy snacks or imported chocolates. Instead, Daddi Maa would open her old wooden pitara and out came treasures—simple, wholesome, filled with care.
A small steel box with bajra and ragi flakes roasted —her way of keeping us full between playtimes.
A neat plate of Anjeer (fig) burfi full of dry fruits that she cut with precision—all natural sugar of Anjeer, more goodness, always saying, “खाओ बेटा, सेहत भी बनेगी और मन भी मीठा होगा।”
Little pouches of Almonds and Cashews tied in cloth, always handed over with a blessing of prosperity.
Evenings meant lighting brass diyas or marble tealights, filling the house with warmth long before electricity was reliable.
And while sipping her chai in a humble mug, she told stories, made us laugh, and taught us values.
Today, this hamper brings that pitara alive again—same crunch, same glow, same love—only dressed in a form that fits our modern homes. It’s not just a gift, it’s a bridge between then and now.
